• The Popular Front of Canada is a mass political organization representing the secular, progressive, socialist elements of society. With the goal of transforming Canada into an independent worker’s republic.

    Due to the immense influence of private corporations within the political process, Canada is effectively a capitalist dictatorship. Neoliberal policies pushed by institutionalized parties (such as the Liberals, NDP, and Conservatives) has lead to austerity and economic downturn. Resulting in the slow dissolution of our institutions.

    The Popular Front aims to address the root cause of this: Capitalism.

    • An economic system driven by the accumulation of private wealth.

    And intends to replace it with: Socialism.

    • An economic system controlled by workers for the benefit of the public.

    As a first step towards a republic, The Popular Front aims to fully leave the Commonwealth and de-recognize the the sovereignty of the British constitutional monarchy.

    For only a Socialist movement can lead to the true liberation of the oppressed. As the dynamics of women’s emancipation, black liberation, indigenous sovereignty, and other struggles are materially connected and held back by the current economic system.

  • The basis of capitalism is liberalism; a moralistic ideology focused on the benefit of the individual at the expense of the community. Over time, this has lead to exploitation and wealth inequality.

    In response, The Popular Front of Canada follows “Scientific Socialism” (or Materialism); an analysis of the world based off of measurable factors. We believe that structural causes primarily determine social and economic wellbeing. Therefore, we look to improve the community as the only way to truly benefit the individual.

    Since the beginning of human history, economic factors drive social and political change. This is called “historical materialism”. Therefore, Socialism isn’t inherently opposed to capitalism but a direct evolution of it.

    The Popular Front was formed due to the failure of the Left to properly address the international crisis brought upon by the Palestinian genocide. The current Canadian Left has shown itself to be inactive, outdated, inefficient, and cut off from regular the working class.

    To address this, The Popular Front focuses on:

    • Fast response times using modern communication methods/organizational tools.

    • Results over processes. KPI’s and performance reviews to guarantee an effective leadership.

    • Recruitment/development of skilled individuals to guarantee a minimum standard/quality to our work.

    • A professional environment, dress code, and behavioral expectations of members.

    And operate based on these permanent three points of unity.

    Private corporations and state institutions will intervene against any successful socialist movement and will prevent any fair electoral process. We will only participate in order to promote our platform but have no interest being elected.

    These private entities dominate government policy and has a monopoly over mass media. They are not elected but selected through an unaccountable process. Therefore, The Popular Front views all capitalist states as capitalist dictatorships.

    This organization is pro gun ownership and considers it a fundamental right as a Canadian citizen to defend themselves and their community.

  • The Popular Front of Canada subscribes to a market socialist model. Following a planned economy in determining large scale industrial and infrastructure policy. While encouraging small-medium businesses to fulfill consumer demands.

    A planned economy also allows the reduction of redundancies within the economy, and therefore enables more efficient use of capital within the state. It replaces the short-term approach in traditional capitalist societies with sensible long-term planning.

    This enables the ability to lower taxes for lower and middle income brackets/businesses. And an increase in state spending without raising taxes.

    In addition, we will:

    • Increase minimum wage. A functioning economy requires continuous circulation between individuals and businesses. While billionaires hoard a much higher percentage, the lower classes spend most of their income at a monthly basis.

    • Provide a public option for all major industries (Telecoms, Banking, Automotive, Construction, Food etc.) to guarantee a bare minimum standard and prevent cost cutting measures by private competitors.

    • Reorient production back into Canada and actively prevent the offshoring of Canadian jobs. This will allow for less dependency on other states, allowing for further political/economic independence.

    • Homelessness is not productive. The Popular Front will make housing a human right and guarantee housing for all citizens. Any additional private investment property will be considered a long term lease from the government to prevent generational monopolies over land.

    • Ensure that every able bodied adult will work and contribute to society. If one is unable to find a job, the government will find one for them fitting their occupation.

    • Apply to join BRICS and other alternative economic blocs in order to diversify trade and to leverage bargaining positions with current partners.

  • Canadian infrastructure has fallen behind international standards.

    The Popular Front will make the development of Canadian infrastructure a priority. Investment in infrastructure is guaranteed to grow the economy by lowering transportation costs for all industries/businesses.

    • We will build highspeed rail from coast to coast. Connecting major population centers with one another and industrial centers to lucrative markets. Private highways and railroads will be nationalized.

    • Car based transportation within cities is inefficient and wasteful. We will encourage more accessible means of public transit and expansion of already available services through subsidized, non-profit operation.

    • Transition to electric vehicles.

    • Redesign cities into walkable and bike friendly environments.

    The long term health of the planet and conservation of Canadian wildlife and ecosystems requires a smooth transition from current energy consumption patterns. Utilizing Canada’s vast world-leading Uranium deposits, we will transition to Nuclear Power and renewable resources in accordance with the Paris Climate Accords.

    To that end, we will:

    • Create joint energy research and production companies with leading countries in renewable power.

    • Fund the retraining/education of oil/coal workers.

    The Popular Front considers healthcare a human right and a cornerstone of Canadian society. We will make it legally impossible for future governments to privatize this institution.

    In addition:

    • Healthcare will be expanded to include dental and eyecare.

    • Grow the workforce to reduce the strain on current staff.

    • Inject state funding into current healthcare programs.

    • Focus on preventative medicine to lower dependency on medication/pharmaceuticals.

  • The Popular Front aims to leave NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) and institute a policy of complete neutrality in regards to world conflicts. We will recall our troops from all foreign deployment. We respect the sovereignty of all states and their right to choose their path of development.

    We will not intervene in any way to enforce a different political system or culture.

    And welcome multipolarity as a world system.

    Colonialism is a racist, discriminatory, and violent ideology & a direct ideological predecessor to Fascism. The Popular Front supports the total decolonization of all states and their right to resist colonialism in any form in accordance with the United Nations Charter.

    As such, The Popular Front of Canada recognizes Palestine based on the 1948 borders.

    And adheres to the Thawabit:

    • The right to resistance

    • The right to self-determination (statehood)

    • Jerusalem/Al-Quds as the capital of Palestine, and

    • The right of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and lands in what is today Israel (in accordance with UNGA 194).


    In addition, we support the emerging AES states in the Sahel/West Africa as they gain autonomy from French neo-colonialism. Despite having de-facto independence, almost every single African nation’s economy is dominated by Western European and North American corporations, thus effectively having political control over the country.

    The same applies to most of Asia and Latin America in regards to their relationship with Europe and North America.

    Their borders were drawn by colonial powers and in turn, meant to divide the continent. As such, The Popular Front supports Pan-Africanism, and Pan-Arabism in the tradition of Kwame Nkrumah and Gamal Abdel Nasser.

    Sanctions are a form of war used against innocent civilians in foreign countries. The Popular Front of Canada will end all sanctions placed by the current Canadian government onto the aforementioned nations.

    We will trade with all legitimate states no matter the government or economic system.
